Hmmmmm the topic is ~something magical~. I'm going to stick to crystals because its what I love and what I do and, for me, there is absolutely no crystal in the known universe that is more magical than the luminous Selenite.
Selenite has the most purest of energies and highest of vibrations. It is pure light! Imagine a glorious, righteous light shinning in the darkness, holding back unseen forces,.... that to me is the pure magic and power of selenite. When I cast a circle now I use a selenite and obsidian wand and I incorporate selenite into my circle crystals. I love the idea of casting my circle in "the light" so to speak. Selenite's vibrations are so strong that she can shine a light even in the darkest of places and the darkest of souls.
According to the ancient Greeks,
selenite means moon rocks or moon stones. The moon represents feminine energy and it’s this energy that is contained in selenite. The Goddess Selene in Greek mythology was an ancient lunar divine being for whom selenite was named for. She was known as far-winged, a term generally applied to birds in flight. Selenite's matrix in its natural state is likened to feathers in a bird's wing. Selenite contains
feminine energy and is often used to connect and commune with the Divine,
especially goddess energy.
Physically selenite is an extremely soft delicate crystal. You can scratch it with your fingernail and rough handling can cause it to splinter or break. As its salt based it should never be cleansed with water, it will start to break down and dissolve. This crystal should only be cleansed with intention, white sage smoke, full moon energy or other crystals. This being said, this crystal does not hold onto negative energy and is not a crystal that belongs wrapped in a soft cloth, hidden in a drawer. This crystal is a carrier of light and belongs in the light where it can shine.
So while physically this crystal is very fragile, metaphysically she has no equal.
Selenite is more powerful than quartz and vibrates at a very high frequency, some saying almost too high to be seen manifested on our physical plane. Selenite is able to balance and lift us above our emotional feelings to the feelings within our deepest soul.
A very protective stone, Selenite shields an individual or space from outside influences. Selenite evokes the highest of protection from the angelic realm and will dispels negative energy.
The powerful energies of Selenite help one connect with one's guides, guardians, Christ Consciousness and Higher Self. Selenite can be held or placed around you or your home in a grid to facilitate such a connection.
Selenite calms and soothes us, bringing a deep peace and sense of tranquillity. Selenite creates a safe and peaceful space. Meditating with Selenite aids in accessing our past and future lives. Selenite brings mental clarity, clearing confusion and revealing the bigger picture behind any problem.
Selenite exists between two worlds: the material and the ethereal. She stands at the doorway between spirit and nature and provides communication between both planes. She connects us with our higher self and attracts direction from our guides and angels. She deepens our meditative state and our intuitive capabilities. She enhances our ability to astral travel and to channel information. She is a bright light shining in the dark illuminating our path and helping us to find our way..... She is something magical.
